COMP 3: Filming Schedule & Preparation

 A Level Media Studies

This will summarize my group's filming schedule and preparation for the music video. This blog is written by me (Sharon).

The following table shows my team's plan for the 3-day shoot. We decided to create one as our original plan to film in December got cancelled due to circumstances. We have included as many details as possible to ease communication among our teammates, crew, and stars, and to ease preparation, such as what to bring to the location.

As we went behind schedule on our second day, me (Sharon) and Timo decided to plan out the time for each of the shots for our third day. The table below summarizes:

Nonetheless, 3 days weren't enough for us to film all the scenes. The circumstance we had on our 3rd day (supposedly last and final day of shooting) was due to that we weren't permitted to film at the park (Peninsula Island). So, we concluded to find another day (Tuesday, 13th February 2024) in order to film at another park, Lapangan Puputan Renon.

To communicate with our stars and to ensure they are being informed well, we created a group chat of my group and all our 7 performers. Below are some of our broadcasts to the group chat regarding the attire on all 3 days and most importantly the filming schedule so they can free their time on those days.

Self Reflection: The table we made became really effective to us since it provides the most important details to highlight throughout all 3 days of shooting although I felt like it would be quite pointless at first. However, it eased us in concluding information and forming the broadcast message to the group chat became easier as all the information are provided in the table (we can type out the message as seen on the table so we wouldn't miss out any other important information). Moreover, it also became a reminder for us because we listed out the equipment and props to bring on certain days. Although, I believe that the table me (Sharon) and Timo made could've been made for day 1 and day 2 as well, which could've maximized effectivity in those days and prevent going behind schedule and focusing too much on smaller scenes. The next time we do a project, a much detailed table for per day to plan out the shots should be done. Lastly, to avoid being prohibited in certain locations, hence holding the project back, it was our mistake that we did not contact the location before concluding to film there.
